Nancy has enjoyed many successes, as well as endured the inevitable setbacks inherent within any life cycle. Through all the ups and the downs, however, she has never relented in her lifelong study of the performing arts, and she has always maintained her pursuit to be a talented and accomplished writer. She remembers always that writing provides her an unparalleled satisfaction and the most rewarding feelings, knowing no greater satisfaction than that which comes by completing any writing masterpiece.

While watching her first theatrical performance as a child, Nancy was mesmerized by the scenes, sequences, and dialogue of the characters. It moved her so much that she immediately realized she was destined to participate in performance and ultimately the writing of the scenes that brought those human characters to life. Achieving this goal, she would come to learn, mandated that she overcome mountains of obstacles, many she didn't realize she faced.

Nancy O'Brien

Nancy O'Brien is an actress, Playboy model, and writer, who has spent a lifetime exploring and discovering the world. Nancy grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she began her acting career at the age of six, after being selected as the lead role of the very first play for which she auditioned. Nancy continued performing in various productions as a child, and subsequently began taking acting classes.

She received financial and emotional support from her late Uncle Carl, aka the beloved Carl the Barber, for her acting interests. During her studies at CSUN, Nancy did extra work as a sexy college student in a Playboy video, entitled The Freshman Class, where she was immediately noticed by the executive producer, who cast her as the lead role in the video.

Not long after that, Nancy appeared in several other Playboy videos, Playboy movies, Playboy TV shows, and Playboy radio programs. Nancy was also featured in several of Playboy's Special Edition magazines, including two issues of Sexy Celebrities (2001 and 2002), as well as Playboy's Natural Beauties (1999)


The first woman mayor of Charlottesville, Nancy O'Brien has spent the last 16 years working with Republicans, Democrats and Independents, both citizens and local government officials, to find common ground on rural, suburban, and urban issues.

As executive director of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District, she convened the first Council on Sustainability, which identified how to create jobs and accommodate growth while preserving the natural environment of Central Virginia. She also helped form the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development, a regional economic effort. Prior to her work at the Planning District, Nancy was Assistant Director of Housing for Conference Services at the University of Virginia.

For her efforts Nancy has been honored by the Chamber of Commerce with its Paul Goodloe McIntire Award for outstanding community leadership and by the Virginia Women's Forum as the Woman of the Year. She also has been recognized by the Shelter for Help in Emergency and by Omega Psi Phi for outstanding leadership in City Government.
