He learned English by mimicking the rap artists of the time such as L.L. Cool J and Run DMC. At age eleven he began writing lyrics in Portuguese and in 1998 began recording Portuguese Hip-Hop Music. In 2002 he independently released the album “Portugal” in the Luso-American and Canadian markets. With the success of that album, Sandro G was discovered by Herman Jose of Sic show in Lisbon, Portugal. Sandro then was signed by NZ Productions and was distributed by Universal Music Portugal. Sandro Grassetti was born in Macerata in 1966. After working for over 30 years in the resin industry and appreciating its versatility, he decided it was time to put his know-how at the service of his greatest passion: sculpture.

Thus, in 2021, he began producing artworks signed Sagrasse. Immediately, his popularity as a contemporary artist grew, arousing considerable interest from private collectors around the world.

His art is nourished by pop imagination to investigate and interpret everyday objects, statues, female forms, and timeless icons like Mickey Mouse. Following an unstoppable flow, he brings resin sculptures and their worlds to life. The result: artworks in fluorescent and golden colors that blur the boundary between reality and imagination.

Each sculpture is modeled by hand but only after being designed and 3D printed, creating a rubber mold in which the piece is cast to obtain rough sculptures. Sandro G. was born in Sao Miguel Acores, the islands of portugal. His family immegrated to the united states when Sandro was 9 years old, as a child Sandro used hip hop music to learn the english language. This is when he found himself falling in love with rap music.

He started writing music at the age of 11. This is when Acoriano hip hop music was created, he wrote and sang his original rhymes to friends and cousins and everyone else that was around him at the time. Sandro G. grew up in east somerville ma. and east cambridge ma. two cities just five minutes away from downtown Boston. This is where Sandro learned and experienced the rough life that comes with the streets.

Sandro then teamed up with his best friend Bobby ( 2 g ) Sousa and created an album dedicated to portuguese people living in america. They signed a demo deal with indecent music and released one album with the label. Shortly after the album release Bobby Sousa was killed in a motor vechile accident.
