Lourdes was born and raised in Chicago, to Cuban parents. She graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Growing up, she also lived in Puerto Rico and Florida.
Prior to her role on the evening news, Lourdes was co-anchor of the WGN Morning News and a reporter for WGN News at Nine. Lourdes came to WGN-TV in September of 2007 as a general assignment reporter for the WGN Midday News, WGN Evening News, and WGN News at Nine.

Lourdes Duarte is co-anchor of WGN Evening News at 4pm. Prior to her role on the evening news, Duarte was co-anchor of the WGN Morning News and a reporter for WGN News at Nine. Duarte came to WGN-TV in September of 2007 as a general assignment reporter for the WGN Midday News, WGN Evening News and WGN News at Nine.
Prior to joining WGN-TV, Duarte worked for three years as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WJBK-TV, the Fox affiliate in Detroit, Michigan. She also spent two years as a reporter for WXIN-TV in Indianapolis. While there, she launched and hosted the stationâs public affairs program, âHoy en Dia,â and anchored daily news cut-ins in Spanish for radio station WEDJ-FM. Duarte was a reporter in Peoria at WHOI-TV and at Metro Networks in Miami, Florida for radio stations WLRN-FM and WTMI-FM. She got her start here in Chicago, working as a freelance reporter for Telemundo.

Lourdes Duarte is an American TV columnist for WGN-TV, where she is an analytical correspondent and co-host of the WGN News Evening News at 4 pm. Duarte was brought up in Chicago, Illinois, to Cuban guardians. Growing up, she likewise lived in Puerto Rico and Florida. She moved on from DePaul University with a four-year certification in liberal arts in correspondences. Duarte began as an independent columnist for Spanish broadcasting company Telemundo in Chicago, before proceeding onward to Metro Networks radio broadcasts WLRN-FM and WTMI-FM in Miami. She at that point held TV news occupations at WHOI-TV in Peoria, WXIN-TV in Indianapolis, and WJBK-TV in Detroit. While in Indianapolis, she dispatched and facilitated the station's public undertakings program, Hoy en Dia, which circulated month to month on WTTV.
